Capacity in Animal Protection Coalition (CAPC)

Introduction

The AfA Dog and Cat Coalition (DACC) is a centralized space to address dog and cat welfare issues in Asia, by bringing together organizations from all levels, grassroots organizations to multinational NGOs, and fostering collaborations to have a wider impact.

DACC was established in response to conversations with different network members regarding the challenges they face in their works for dogs and cats, including population control, the dog and cat meat trade, and public awareness.

DACC Activities

We support our members through networking opportunities, facilitating regular meetings, events, and developing valuable resources.
DACC keeps abreast of dog- and cat-related news across the region and provide regular updates to members.
We amplify the important work of our members to increase awareness and visibility for critical issues affecting dog and cat welfare in Asia.
DACC offers practical support such as providing resources, or writing appeal letters to the government on critical issues regarding dogs and cats.

We have curated a selection of resources on dog and cat welfare, from online courses, articles, to studies from leading experts in the field, offering valuable insights into nutrition, behavior, health care, training, and more. We understand the importance of having easy and free access to resources, in order for any organizations to build on their knowledge and skills to care for cats and dogs across Asia.

DACC connects organizations focused on community dog and cat welfare, including issues like dog culling, population management, and disease control.

DACC partners with ICAM (International Companion Animal Management) to promote humane dog and cat population management practices across Asia.

Dog and Cat Meat Trade

DACC is a centralized and reliable space for information and resources about the dog and cat meat trade (DCMT) in Asia and is working with its member organizations to end the DCMT, with a current focus on Vietnam.

DACC Activities

DACC fosters collaboration among and shares updates with its member organizations;
DACC facilities coordinated regional campaigns with its member organizations;
DACC keeps abreast of DCMT-related news in Asia;
DACC hosts and organizes DCMT meetings with member organizations.

Greyhound Racing

DACC has been monitoring greyhound racing in Vietnam since 2023. Our goal is to raise awareness of the cruelty behind the racing industry and to see an end to it.

With the collaboration of our member organizations, we monitor racing track licenses, develop strategies, and keep abreast of greyhound racing related news to abolish the industry.

What you can do

Donate/volunteer to greyhound advocacy groups such as GREY2K USA Worldwide, Blue the Grey, Global Justice for Greyhounds and All Dogs.
Sign petitions to ban greyhound racing worldwide
Foster or adopt a greyhound to your family!
